Industry's First Cockpit Display Integrating CMS

Hardstone’s third-generation LCoS AR-HUD has achievedsignificant performance improvements and expanded application, which is theindustry's first cockpit display integrating Camera Monitor System (CMS) andHead-up Display (HUD).

Based on LCoS PGU developed by Hardstone, the LCoSAR-HUD 3.0 supports a full-color 2K resolution, 1500:1 high contrast ratio and15000nits high brightness. Supported by optical design and mathematicalmodeling optimization, this product achieves 15°x5° FOV in a small volume, withan infinite virtual image distance and size. Professional AR algorithm are alsoutilized to realize the industry-leading optical display quality.

Additionally, the productfurther expands the application scope by integrating CMS features. Withhigh-precision maps and positioning, this product provides drivers with clearnavigation, reminders, and landmarks, while also supporting side/rearviewdisplays during turning/reversing, ensuring comprehensive driving safety.

Compared to other displaytechnologies, LCoS offers significant advantages, including high resolution,high contrast, high light efficiency, low power consumption, and compact size,without being subject to technological monopolies. While some OEMsinitially adopt TFT or DLP technologies for cost-effectiveness considerationduring the early stages of AR-HUD production, LCoS is poised to become themainstream choice in the long term due to its dual advantages of performanceand cost.

LCoS + Holography/AI will bethe key technological route leading the future of in-vehicle displays.Currently, the focus of in-vehicle displays is on upgrading and iteratingAR-HUD products. As holography and AI technologies are involved, the boundariesof in-vehicle display applications will be redefined—information display will nolonger be limited to the windshield, and the entire vehicle interior couldevolve into an interactive platform, offering richer entertainment experiences,immersive interactions, and intelligent assistance features.
